Ein Calliope Mini ist ein kleiner Micro-Controller, der f\u00fcr den Einsatz in Grundschulen gedacht ist. Er bietet Sensoren (u.a. einen Bewegungssensor, einen Beschleunigungssensor und einen Kompass), 25 LED-L\u00e4mpchen, ein Mikrofon, einen Lautsprecher, USB-Anschl\u00fcsse, Bluetooth und einiges mehr.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Mit Hilfe eines PCs k\u00f6nnen kleine Programme geschrieben werden, die dann autark vom Calliope Mini ausgef\u00fchrt werden. Es k\u00f6nnen auch sehr einfach Feuchtigkeitssensoren oder Temperaturf\u00fchler angeschlossen werden, um zum Beispiel in der freien Natur Messungen vorzunehmen.\u00a0 Oder man schlie\u00dft einen oder mehrere Motoren an, z.B. um ein selbstfahrendes Auto damit zu bauen. Mit dem Calliope Mini erschlie\u00dft sich Kindern so ein spielerischer Zugang zur Funktionsweise der digitalen Welt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Am 16. November hatte ich die M\u00f6glichkeit, mir die Produktion der Calliope Minis beim Berliner Unternehmen Schleicher Electronics\u00a0 mitten in Berlin live anzuschauen. Es war wie bei der Sendung mit der Maus &#8211; man konnte hinter die Kulissen gucken, jede beliebige Frage stellen und bekam den Produktionsprozess von Anfang bis Ende genau gezeigt und erkl\u00e4rt. Es war h\u00f6chst spannend zu beobachten, wie so ein Calliope Mini entsteht. Hier schaut sie zu, wie ein Calliope Board per Mini-Flie\u00dfband in die &#8222;Rakel-Maschine&#8220; hineinf\u00e4hrt<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Schritt 2 &#8211; Aufbringen der elektronischen Bauteile<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In der n\u00e4chsten Maschine werden in Windeseile viele winzige elektronische Bauteile auf diese Stellen gesetzt, wo sie auf der Paste quasi &#8222;kleben&#8220; bleiben. Die kleinen Bauteile &#8211; manche Kondensatoren sind so winzig, dass man sie gerade noch erkennen kann &#8211;\u00a0 sind auf Rollen befestigt, die auf dem ersten Blick aussehen wie Filmrollen. Darin werden sie durch hei\u00dfe Luft erhitzt, damit die ganz am Anfang aufgetragene Paste fl\u00fcssig wird und die Bauteile dabei quasi angel\u00f6tet werden. Ganz sch\u00f6n viel hei\u00dfe Luft da drinnen!<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Schritt 4 &#8211; Ausfr\u00e4sen der Calliopes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Im n\u00e4chsten Arbeitsschritt werden die einzelnen Calliope Minis aus dem Board gefr\u00e4st, mit dem sie an einigen Stellen verbunden waren &#8211; sechs Calliopes pro Platte. Per Hand sind anschlie\u00dfend die Calliopes leicht aus der Platte zu l\u00f6sen und wandern in eine Kiste. Die Hardware ist an dieser Stelle fertig. Entscheidend ist die sinnvolle Integration in den Unterricht. Daf\u00fcr gibt es Schulungen f\u00fcr Lehrer*innen. Die Materialien geben viele Anregungen und Anleitungen f\u00fcr den interdisziplin\u00e4ren Einsatz &#8211; vom Feuchtemessen im Pflanzenboden im Biounterricht, bis zum Einsatz als Geschwindigkeitsmesser im Sport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Die Digitalisierung betrifft ja auch alle gesellschaftlichen Bereiche, daher sollte auch ein Calliope Mini nicht nur im Informatik Unterricht genutzt werden. Verschiedene einfache Programmierhilfen k\u00f6nnen daf\u00fcr genutzt werden.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Der Calliope Mini steht noch ganz am Anfang einer hoffentlich erfolgreichen Entwicklung. Es gibt u.a. schon Pilotprojekte an Grundschulen in Berlin, Saarland, Th\u00fcringen und Brandenburg. In meinem Heimatort F\u00fcrstenberg\/Havel leitet mein Mann Daniel ehrenamtlich eine Informatik-AG an der Dreiseen Grundschule, wo er erste Erfahrungen mit dem Calliope Mini sammelt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Ich begr\u00fc\u00dfe einen fl\u00e4chendeckenden Einsatz an Grundschulen. Wie so oft mangelt es aber vor allem am Geld. Ein Calliope Mini kostet knapp 35 Euro, ein Klassensatz besteht derzeit aus 25 Calliope Minis. Das Berliner Unternehmen Schleicher Electronics h\u00e4tte keine Probleme damit, die Kapazit\u00e4t zu erh\u00f6hen, wenn die Nachfrage w\u00e4chst, erz\u00e4hlte uns der Chef Herr Ritter am Ende unseres Rundgangs. Deshalb ist jede Spende weiterhin willkommen. Ich pers\u00f6nlich m\u00f6chte dazu auch einen Beitrag leisten.
